On April 12, 2007, in Dushanbe, under the leadership of the mayor of the city Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloev, an expanded meeting of the competition committee with the participation of local and foreign journalists was held to select the best draft design of the «Architectural complex with a sculpture of Abuabdullo Rudaki «, which is being erected in honor of the 1150th anniversary of the poet in Central Park capital Cities.
Members of the competition committee considered 9 projects put forward by 7 working groups. In connection with the nationwide significance of the complex being built, the mayor of Dushanbe, the chairman of the competition committee, Mahmadsaid Ubaydulloyev, decided to submit it to the experts and residents of the capital before choosing the winners. In accordance with the decision of the commission, the townspeople had the opportunity on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8.00 to 17.00 to get acquainted with the project of the complex, which was exhibited in the exhibition hall of the «Unity and Revival of Tajikistan» museum located on Dusti Square. The residents of the capital could write down their opinions in the «Book of Observations and Suggestions».
On Monday, April 16, 2007, the Competition Committee was unable to choose the best draft design of the complex. From the composition of the same competition groups, four new groups were created, which include poets, architects, artists and other scientists. These groups must, within ten days before April 26, taking into account the statement of the Contest Commission, submit new projects for consideration.
