It was a tough and honest treatment. His message, as it is now fashionable to say, was unambiguous: you, gentlemen, unleashed a criminal war with your own citizens on your own territory, and you want to blame the army for the crimes.
However, later, another, completely loyal appeal appeared there — to President Putin, with a request to take Ulman’s case under his personal control. Feel the difference, as they say. Veterans of local wars were afraid of their own civil courage. Well, of course: families, pensions, «you have to live», etc..
But cowardice never leads to victory, fellow veterans. Social struggle is the same war, only without weapons. If you have already struck, then do not fall on your knees after that. In the first appeal, you expressed the opinion and emotions of the majority of Russian citizens, and in the second … this is an ordinary Russian petition: figure it out, father-tsar, with your careless boyars. You were probably prompted that it would be better this way? It won’t be better this way. Truth and justice are obtained only through struggle. Come out to fight for the truth — fight.
