The Uzbek airline «Uzbekiston Havo Yollari» has posted information on restrictions on the sale and consumption of alcohol, cigarettes at airports, air terminals and on the territories that relate to them.
The official statement of the Uzbekiston Havo Yollari airline says that since April 2018, in the building of the air terminals and around the adjacent territories, which refer to them, the use of any types of tobacco products (chewing tobacco — nasvay, smoking mixture and cigarettes) is strictly prohibited.
The message contains a link to the Law «On Restricting the Distribution and Use of Alcohol and Tobacco Products», Article 19. «The Law comes into force in April 2018.
Also, according to this law, drinking alcoholic beverages is prohibited in a public place (stops, libraries, meetings, shops, but not restaurants and cafes where there is a license to sell alcoholic beverages) and on the streets. According to the airline, for violation of the requirements of the law, fines will be applied in accordance with the current legislation. The law is aimed at protecting the younger generation from the harmful effects of alcohol and tobacco products. For many years, smoking and the use of tobacco products have been prohibited on all aircraft of Uzbekiston Havo Yollari. Promotion of alcohol and cigarettes on television, in newspapers and magazines and on billboards is not allowed in Uzbekistan.
